The Fusion of Music and Image in Film with Kriv Stenders

In this VLOG Melodie’s Head of A&R, Andy Wilson, has a chat with writer-director Kriv Stenders. They dig deep into the fusion of sound and image, Stenders’ iconic projects, and the task of being creative in times of conflict.

Meet Kriv Stenders:

One of Australia’s most prolific film directors, Kriv Stenders has numerous critically acclaimed and award-winning films under his belt. But before winning awards for critically acclaimed feature films, Stenders cut his teeth directing music videos for many seminal artists and commercials for iconic brands.

Kriv Stenders early feature films include Blacktown, The Illustrated, Family Doctor, Boxing Day, and Lucky Country. His fifth feature, Red Dog, became the eighth highest-grossing Australian film of all time earning over $22 million at the box office. The film won him both Best Director and Best Film at 2011 IF Awards and Best Film at the inaugural 2012 ACCTA Awards.

Stenders also directed several feature-length music documentaries. He directed The Go-Betweens: Right Here, Slim& I -a chronicle of the life of Joy McKean and her 50-year marriage to country music legend, Slim Dusty – and Over The Top – the legend
